Restoring from a NAS to the RPS server itself
We use Arcserve UDP 6 to backup our Branch Office servers to a local NAS connected via iSCSI, the Branch Office server is also an RPS server as we only have one server in the Branch Offices we are protecting with Arcserve.
We recently had to recover a complete server and the performance throughput doing a restore after a rebuild was dire, approx. 100MB per minute - would have taken around 7 days to restore 1.5TB.
Do any of you have any reccomedations or experience with this type of setup, how do you manage this and what hardware do you use, e.g. local NAS, another RPS server etc?
