Securing the Backup Destination against Ransomware and other Malware

What I would like to do is protect the storage unit which is exclusively used to store the backups created by UDP V6 against malware, especially against ransomware.

Several types of malware scan the systems and volumes that are "reachable" and encrypt the contents.

In order to store backups created by UDP the storage unit, which is connected via iSCSI to the RPS server and which uses a local drive letter, has to be connected and accessible from the server.

Is there any way to execute a script which will connect the backup destination storage unit only immediately before a backup job executes and disconnects it immediately after completion of backuing up all the systems in this job?

Or is there any other way that you suggest in order to protect the backup target against encryption by ransomware?

6.5 has assured recovery to test recovery point. Instant VM or Instant Virtual Disk is created and the data/file system is validated.

you can also add a verification schedule with you backups to also provided piece of mind!

Hi there,

Did you every find a solution for this? I'm facing a similar issue, and it seems to be a single point of weakness for an otherwise great product...
