arcserve-KB : [Solution] Failed to install mounting driver in Windows Server 2016 / Windows 2019

Problem Summary:

In Windows Server 2016, after installed some KB, the driver signed by Arcserve's own digital certificate can't be installed anymore.

The driver has to pass WHQL certification and be signed by Microsoft's digital certificate in order to work.

Note by: The same behavior was observed on a Tech Preview version of Windows 2019, but as of August 2018, Windows Server 2019 had not yet been release by Microsoft, and as such as no support by Arcserve yet.

Please check the UDP Compatibility Matrix for the status with the newest versions of UDP.



Products Affected:
Arcserve UDP. Affected release :6.5 Update 2; 6.5 Update 3;

Product Installation Instructions:

Please ensure that no job is running in the agent node which need replace the mounting driver.
Apply step:
1 Run cmd as administrator .
2 Switch to folder %InstallPath%\Arcserve\Unified Data Protection\Engine\BIN\DRIVER .
3 Run command "AFMntDrvInstall.exe -stop" to stop mounting driver .
4 Run command "AFMntDrvInstall.exe -remove -output c:\removelog.log" to remove(uninstall) the mounting driver .
5 Replace the 3 files(.cat/.inf/.sys) in patch to folder %InstallPath%\Arcserve\Unified Data Protection\Engine\BIN\DRIVER .
6 Run command "AFMntDrvInstall.exe -install -output c:\installlog.log" to install the new mounting driver.
