Backup of Linux Virtual Machines running on Hype-V Host, fails with the error 
 
Error Message:
Failed to initilize the Hyper-V environment.
The Hyper-V VSS writer has encountered an error when processing this virtual machine.


Environment:
Hyper-V Host: Windows 2012 R2 
Guest VM OS: CentOS 6.8
UDP : 6.5

Solution:

Step 1: 

Review the support page of Hyper-V and install the latest version of the Linux Integration Services which are compatible with the Guest VM.

Step 2: 

After the installation of compatible LIS( Linux Integration Services), if the backup job still fails then edit the settings of the VM and uncheck the option:
