(1) Image option backup job completes successfully, but the backed up data size is smaller than the actual data. For example, this message is recorded in the activity log when there is 18 TB of data in a 20TB volume : "16.00 TB Written to Media." From this backup data, the restore job fails with the following error: "E11056 Error restoring file fragment. (EC=(null), FILE=<path>)" After applying this fix, the image backup job will fail with this message when it doesn't backup data completely : "E11042 Image Session <number> is incomplete and unusable" (2) VMAgent Backup (enable file mode restore) completes successfully, but the restore job fails with the following error: "AE0101 Invalid UTF stream id signature: <number>" After applying this fix, the VMAgent backup job will finish in incomplete status or crashes with this message for the specific volume : "AW0553 Unable to create sub-session metadata for the volume <name>." This fix addresses the problem which happens after the backup source volume is occupied with more data than the size of ( 2G x <Allocation Unit Size of the volume> ). It can happen even after reducing the data once the data exceeds this size. Limit data sizes of backup by image option or VMagent "enable file level restore" with the default allocation unit sizes are : Volume Size Default Allocation Unit Size Limit of Image Backup Upto 16TB 4KB 8TB 16TB - 32TB 8KB 16TB 32TB - 64TB 16KB 32TB 64TB - 128TB 32KB 64TB 128TB - 256TB 64KB 128TB
