This article explains the purpose of windows shared folder UDP_APM after UDP 6.0 is installed. 

After the installation of UDP 6.0 every machine has this share UDP_APM

This primary use of this share is to deploy patches.

When a patch download is triggered the patch is downloaded from Arcserve download center or though a configured proxy server to this holding directory.
The default location for the patch download folder is: 

C:\Program Files\Arcserve\Unified Data Protection\APM

    Why don't you hide it with "$"? It is visible to any User.

    Hi Guido, In windows the computer management/Shares shows all the shares, even the hidden ones.

    LOL don't worry Guido I read your post and agree, hide all shares so when browsing to clients you see no unnecessary shares.
