arcserve-KB : P00000106 : 16.5 SP1: [Solution] SUPPORT DR WITH 4K DISK

Problem Summary:

ASBU does not support DR with 4K disk, after run DR to a machine with 4K disk, the machine could not startup.

NOTE:
If ISO image for WinPE-DR will create on the 4K System HDD environment, ISO destination path needs to change to 512 disk by DR wizard.



Products Affected:
Arcserve Backup . Affected release :16.5.1;

Product Installation Instructions:

This fix requires arcserve ARCserve 16.5 SP1 to be
installed.
Manually install: 
For X86 platform:
1. Start the DR machine with WinPE image
2. After the ARCserve Backup DR screen startup, select the
Language and Keyboard Layout, then click Next button
3. Click the "Utilities" button and select "Run" in the
popup menu, then enter the name of the program
"taskmgr.exe" to start the Task Manager
4. After Task Manager startup, click the tab "Process" and
select the process PEDRMain.exe, then right click and
select "End Process" in the popup menu
5. A command prompt will show up automatically after the
process PEDRMain.exe stopped
6. Run below command to rename the current PEDRMain.exe to
PEDRMain.exe.bk
   ren PEDRMain.exe PEDRMain.exe.bk
7. Copy the file PEDRMain.exe from the fix to the current
location with command prompt
8. Run below command to start the new PEDRMain.exe
   .\PEDRMain.exe
9. Continue the DR procedure

For X64 platform:
1. Start the DR machine with WinPE image
2. After the ARCserve Backup DR screen startup, select the
Language and Keyboard Layout, then click Next button
3. Click the "Utilities" button and select "Run" in the
popup menu, then enter the name of the program
"taskmgr.exe" to start the Task Manager
4. After Task Manager startup, click the tab "Process" and
select the process PEDRMain.exe, then right click and
select "End Process" in the popup menu
5. A command prompt will show up automatically after the
process PEDRMain.exe stopped
6. Run below command to rename the current PEDRMain.exe to
PEDRMain.exe.bk
   ren PEDRMain.exe PEDRMain.exe.bk
7. Copy the file PEDRMain.exe.X64 from the fix to the
current location with command prompt and run below command
to rename the file to PEDRMain.exe
   ren PEDRMain.exe.X64 PEDRMain.exe
8. Run below command to start the new PEDRMain.exe
   .\PEDRMain.exe
9. Continue the DR procedure

Note:
If the ASBU Base installed on a 4k disk and you want to
create a new WinPE image file, please also replace the
drcreate.exe with the new drcreate.exe
