arcserve-KB : How to reinstall the arcserve UDP Agent BLI driver - ARCFlashVolDrv.sys?

While working on various problems related to Arcserve UDP Agent it may be required to reinstall the BLI driver which enabled the UDP Agent to perform track Block Level changes.

Note: The below mentioned steps would resolve specific problems, it should not be performed unless requested by Arcserve Support.

Solution:

Steps to reinstall the BLI driver:-

1) Browse to the directory 'X:\Program Files\CA\arcserve Unified Data Protection\Engine\BIN\DRIVER’.(Replace X:\ with the Drive letter where Arcserve UDP Agent is installed)

2) Run batch file UninstallDriver.bat.

Note : If the OS is Windows Vista/Windows 2008 or latter, right click the batch file and select the option 'Run as administrator'

3) Review the log %TEMP%\UninstallDriver.log, if the driver was uninstalled successfully exit code at the bottom of the log would be 3010.

4) Reboot the server

5) Browse to the directory 'X:\Program Files\CA\arcserve Unified Data Protection\Engine\BIN\DRIVER’.(Replace X:\ with the Drive letter where Arcserve UDP Agent is installed)

6) Run batch file InstallDriver.bat.

Note : If the OS is Windows Vista/Windows 2008 or latter,right click the batch file and select the option 'Run as administrator'

7) Review the log %TEMP%\InstallDriver.log, if the driver was installed successfully exit code at the bottom of the log would be 3010.

8) Reboot the server
