Problem Description
Title: CONFIGURING VMAGENT FOR VMWARE VSPHERE 5.0
Description:
 Configuring the Agent for Virtual Machines for VMware vSphere 5.0

 ARCserve Backup r16.0 bundles the VDDK 1.2.1 binaries with the
 ARCserve Backup Agent for Virtual Machines. However, VMware VDDK 1.2.1
 does not support protecting systems running VMware vSphere 5.0. To
 protect vSphere 5.0 environments, you should install VDDK 5.0 on your
 backup proxy systems and then configure the agent to use VDDK 5.0. The
 following steps describe how to perform this task.

 Follow these steps:

  1. Install the VMware VDDK 5.0 on the VMware backup proxy system
  where the Agent for Virtual Machines is installed. Default
  installation path is as follows:

  * x64 systems:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit

  * x86 systems:

  C:\ Program Files\VMware\VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit

  2. After you install VMware VDDK on the backup proxy system, open
  Windows Registry Editor (on the proxy system) and locate the
  following key:

  * Location:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\CA ARCServe Backup
 \ClientAgent\Parameters

  * Key name:

  VDDKDirectory

  3. Change the value data for VDDKDirectory to the VMware VDDK 5.0
  installation directory.

  Examples:

  * On x64 systems, set the value data for VDDKDirectory to the
  following:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit

  * On x86 systems, set the value data for VDDKDirectory to the
  following:

  C:\ Program Files\VMware\VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit
