Problem Description
Title: WIN-AE0580 FILE MODE BACKUP OF JAPANESE NAME VM
Description:
                      (1) AE0580 Failed  to backup Virtual  Machine [<DNS
  name>] on ESX/VC server [<address>]. For more
  information refer backup job log available in the
  log folder under the client agent installation
  directory.
 
  This message is recorded to the activity log, and
  the job fails. This problem occurs for the file
  mode backup job of VM which has Japanese characters
  in its name.
 
  (2) For restore job, AE0069 Restore failed for
  file/directory: <vmdk file name>
 
  For backup job, AW0004 Failed to open file <vmdk
  path name>, RC=110, The system cannot open the
  device or file specified.
 
  This error is recorded in the activity log, and the
  job fails. The following message is recorded in
  VMDKIO-<date>-<time>.<number>.log when AE0069 or
  AW0004 is recorded : VixDiskLibVim: Unable to find
  key for disk "<truncated vmdk file path>" (
  <truncated vmdk file path> is a truncated pathname
  for the vmdk file. ex. "[Storage3]
  mbcs-chacactors/mbcs-charactors.vm" ".vmdk" is
  truncated to ".vm")
 
  This problem occurs for a certain length of vm
  pathnames which includes multibyte charactors.
 
  (3) AW0553 Unable to create sub-session metadata
  for the volume \\?\Volume{<id>} AW0553 Unable to
  create sub-session metadata for the volume C:
 
  These messages are recorded to the activity log,
  and the backup job finishes in the incomplete
  status. This problem occurs for the RAW mode backup
  of Japanese-named VM with the file mode restore
  enabled.

 This fix requires CA ARCserve Backup Release 16.5 to be installed.
 
 1. Unzip the fix file as follows:
 
 CAZIPXP -U RO58906.CAZ
 
 2. Launch RO58906.exe.
