How to enable Debug on client agent for Linux/Unix ?

Scope: Diagnose issues related to  backup , restore and performance issues. 


Given below are the steps to enable Debug on client agent for Linux/Unix.

Step 1:  Login to the Linux/Unix server using root credentials.

Step 2: open agent.cfg

# cd /opt/CA/ABcmagt

# vi agent.cfg

Step 3:

Uncomment the line  # ENV      CA_ENV_DEBUG_LEVEL=4 by removing #

NAME      LinuxAgent
VERSION   16.0
HOME      /opt/CA/ABuagent
ENV       UAGENT_HOME=/opt/CA/ABuagent
#ENV       LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.18
ENV       LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/CA/ABcmagt:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/CA/SharedComponents/lib:/opt/CA/ABuagent/lib
ENV       SHLIB_PATH=/opt/CA/ABcmagt:$SHLIB_PATH:/opt/CA/SharedComponents/lib:/opt/CA/ABuagent/lib
ENV       LIBPATH=/opt/CA/ABcmagt:$LIBPATH:/opt/CA/SharedComponents/lib:/opt/CA/ABuagent/lib
BROWSER   cabr
AGENT     uagentd
MERGE     umrgd
VERIFY    umrgd

Step 4: Save the agent.cfg using ESC Shift+:wq!

Step 5: Restart the services using the following command.

#caagent disable all

#caagent enable all

Step 5: Reproduce the problem you are current facing with the Linux / Unix agent

Step 6: Collect the logs. 

Debug logs will be saved in the file  /opt/CA/ABuagent/logs/uag.log
