Title:  'Mis-Match' error during creation or start of a 64Bit SQL scenario for CA XOsoft High Availability.

Description:

When attempting to start a 64bit SQL scenario, the scenario will not run due to a 'Mis-match' error between the Master and Replica's databases even though the instance of both has been configured symmetrical.

Solution:

This issue can occur when either the Master or Replica hosts not only have the 64-Bit SQL instance but also have a 32-Bit Instance of SQL Server installed.

To resolve this issue perform one of the following tasks:

  1. Install a duplicate 32-Bit instance on the machine that does not have one installed already. i.e.  If the Master had both a 64-Bit Default instance & 32-Bit named instance installed then the Replica would need the 32-Bit named instanced installed as well.
  2. Uninstall the 32-Bit instance from the host that has it installed.
