arcserve-KB : How to change the replication mode of an existing scenario?

Last Update: 2016-04-25 14:36:26 UTC

Description:

How to change the replication mode of an existing scenario?

After the scenario is created you can still change the replication mode without having to recreate the scenario.  This gives you the ability to change from or to: online replication, scheduled synchronization, or periodic replication modes.

Solution:

If your scenario is running for which you want to change the replication mode, you need to stop the scenario.

1. Go to the scenario properties by clicking on the scenario level in the left pane and the properties tab in the right pane.

2. Expand the replication platter

3. Select Mode and from the right side of Mode click and choose between the 3 available mode selections:

Online / Scheduling / Periodic

Make sure to make the necessary configuration to the scheduler if you are choosing Periodic or Scheduled mode.

Save the scenario by right clicking on the job and selecting save.

Now you will be able to run the scenario with the new mode of replication.
