arcserve-KB : How to setup new Control service server and decommission old control service and make use of the existing scenarios?

Last Update: 2015-09-11 14:54:23 UTC

Description:

This article explains how to setup a new control service and decommission the old control service and make use of the existing scenarios.

Solution

1) First make sure all the scenarios are stopped, then export the scenarios one by one by right-clicking the scenario and select Export

                or

Copy the 'ws_scenarios' folder located under :

      'C:\Program files(x86)\Ca\ARCserve RHA\Manager'  (for 64 bit servers) or under

'C:\Program files\Ca\ARCserve RHA\Manager' (for 32 bit servers) to any alternate location.

2) Next, uninstall the control service by going to add/remove programs in the control panel

3) Next, run the control service installation on the new management machine and then import the scenarios from the old server or

replace the copied 'ws_scenarios' folder as mentioned in step 1 onto the newly commisioned server under the appropriate    folders as mentioned above.  You will also need to put your Arcserve RHA license key back into the new manager under 'help' and then 'register'.
