Title:  Installing the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service


This document includes the details on how to install the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service Module


  1. Decompress the Installation Files and copy them to a local directory on the host which you are going to install the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service.
  2. Browse to the directory with the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service Installation Files and open the 'Install' Directory.
  3. Run SETUP.EXE to launch the 'CA ARCserve RHA r15 Product Installation Browser'.

  5. 'Click' 'INSTALL CA ARCserve RHA Control Service'

  6. Browse for the Language to be used for the installation, then 'click' 'OK'

  7. You will be prompted to allow CA ARCserve RHA to install 'Microsoft ASP .NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0'.

    • 'Click' 'INSTALL'

  8. After the installation of 'Microsoft ASP .NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0' is completed, you will be prompted to install the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service.

    1. 'Click' 'NEXT'

  9. Review the terms of the CA ARCserve RHA r15 License Agreement (EULA). (There is a button available to print a copy of the EULA).

    1. Select the 'I accept the terms in the license agreement' radio button,
    2. then 'click' 'NEXT'

  10. Enter the 'User name' and 'Company Name' in the CUSTOMER INFORMATION SCREEN. Then 'click' 'NEXT'.

  11. In the DESTINATION FOLDER screen, you can choose the directory in which you would like to install the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service.

    • Select the CHANGE button to browse to the directory of your choice.
  12. When done, 'click' 'NEXT.

  13. In the SSL CONFIGURATION screen, you can choose to configure the Control Service to use SSL. To do so, you will need to select the 'Use SSL Configuration' checkbox, then specify the SSL Port. You will then need to select the appropriate radio button for '*.CER or *.PFX certificate files and specify the path to the file. You can also select the 'Self-signed Certificate option. You can choose to not enable SSL as well, if you prefer.
  14. When completed, select 'NEXT'.

  15. In the SERVICE LOGON INFORMATION screen, you can choose the service account you want to assign to the CA ARCserve RHA Control Service. You can choose to assign 'Local System' or you can assign either a Local or Domain user account. After assigning the account to be used for the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service, 'click' 'NEXT'.

  16. In the CONTROL SERVICE ROLE you can choose to configure High Availability for the Control Service. By selecting the 'Allow the Active Control Service to switch roles with a Standby Control Service' you can define this Control Service host to integrate with other Control Service hosts. Select the appropriate radio button to enable this Control Service as the 'Active Control Service' or the 'Standby Control Service'.

    • NOTE: There should only be one active Control Service. The first Control Service in the environment should be set as the Active Control Service. All additional Control Service Hosts should be configured as 'Standby Control Service'.
  17. Select 'NEXT'.

  18. At the 'Ready to Install the Program' screen 'click' 'INSTALL'.

  19. When installation is completed, 'click' 'FINISH'.

  20. You can now choose to install additional CA ARCserve RHA r15 components using the CA ARCserve RHA Installation Browser.
  21. When you are done, select 'EXIT'.
