This document explains how to use CA ARCserve RHA r15 Remote Installation Utility.

Solution

CA ARCserve RHA r15 Remote Installation Utility is used to push out an installation of the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine to a Remote machine from the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Manager. This document assumes you have already installed the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service module on a host to act as the Control Service.

  1. Connect to the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service and launch the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Scenario Manager.

  2. To launch Remote installer, go to Tools and select Launch Remote Installer from CA ARCserve RHA r15 Scenario Manager.

  3. In CA ARCserve RHA r15 Remote Installation Wizard will allow you to enter the host name or IP address of the host on which CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine is to be installed.

  4. Enter the Host Name or IP address and click on Add.

  5. Select the host and click Next.

  6. In the User Credentials window, enter the account that has administrator rights on all the selected hosts. You can use current user or you can specify to use a domain account. Select the radio button 'The following user' to use a domain user account.

  7. Preinstall Verification will check if any old version of engine is installed on the selected hosts. Click Next after the verification is completed.

  8. At Installation Settings window, enter the user account with which CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine will be started after the engine is installed. You can use the local system account or specify domain user account. Select the radio button 'This account' to enter a domain user account. You can also mention the Port number used by the engine. By default it is 25000.

  9. Installation Wizard is ready to install CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine on the selected hosts. Click on Install to begin the installation.

  10. You will be notified that Remote Installer wizard will be closed now and the engine will be installed on the selected hosts. Click on Yes to install the engine or click No to stay in the wizard.

  11. Remote installer will start the installation of the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine.

  12. After the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine installation is completed, you will be notified that the installation is completed. You can also see the version of the Engine installed. This will conclude the installation of CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine using the Remote Installer.
