Title:  Upgrading the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine using the Remote Installer.

Description:

This document will deal with the steps for upgrading the CA XOsoft r12.x Replication Engine to CA ARCserve RHA r15 using the Remote installer.

Solution:

The CA ARCserve RHA Remote installation utility is used to install CA ARCserve RHA r15 Replication Engine on a Remote machine. These instructions assume that you have already upgraded the existing CA XOsoft r12.x Control Service to CA ARCserve RHA r15, or installed the CA ARCerve RHA r15 module on a new host.

  1. Connect to the host running the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service module and launch the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Scenario Manager

  2. In the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Scenario Manager, go to Tools and select Launch Remote Installer.

    • You could also select the 'Remote Installer Monitor' tab, then right-click in the filed and select Launch Remote Installer.

  3. CA ARCserve RHA Remote Installation Wizard will allow you to enter the host name or IP address of the host on which the Engine has to be upgraded.

  4. Select the host and click Next

  5. In the User Credentials window, enter the account that has administrator rights on all the selected hosts. You can use current user or you can specify to use a domain account. Select the radio button 'The following user' to use a domain user account.

  6. In Preinstall verification screen, you will see a old version of Engine detected. Click Next to proceed with the upgrade.

  7. At Installation Settings window, enter the user account with which RHA Engine will be started after the engine is installed. You can use the local system account or specify domain user account. Select the radio button 'This Account' to enter a domain user account. You can also mention the Port number used by the engine. By default it is 25000.

  8. Installation Wizard is ready to upgrade ARCserve RHA Engine on the selected hosts. Click on Install to begin the installation.

  9. You will be notified that Remote installer wizard will be closed now and the engine will be installed on the selected hosts. Click on Yes to install the engine or click No to stay in the wizard.

  10. Remote installer will start Up gradation of Replication engine to ARCserve RHA engine r15.0.

  11. After the Engine installation is completed, You will be notified that the installation is completed. You can also see the version of the Engine installed. This will conclude the upgrade of CA ARCserve RHA engine using Remote installer.
