This document details how to launch the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Scenario Manager.

Solution:

Launch the CA ARCserver RHA r15 Manager Remotely From Another Host:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and connect to the URL for the CA ARCserve RHA Control Service. This will be the host name or IP address of the host running the CA ARCserve Control Service Module with TCP port 8088.

    • EXAMPLE: http://<Control Service Host>:8088
  2. Logon using a valid account which is a member of the Local Administrators group on the host running the CA ARCserve Control Service module.

  3. Click' Scenario Management to Launch the CA ARCserve Scenario manager.

Launch the Manager Locally while logged onto the console of the host running the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service module:

NOTE: Technically you can connect to the local CA ARCserve RHA Control Service and launch the Manager using a web browser such as Internet Explorer, just like when connecting remotely. However, there is also a shortcut in the Programs Menu.

  1. Logon to the host running the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service module. (This can be done using Remote Desktop or via console access)
  2. Goto Start ->Programs -> CA -> ARCserve RHA -> Overview Page

  4. Logon using a valid account which is a member of the Local Administrators group on the host running the CA ARCserve Control Service module.

Launch the Manager Locally While Logged Onto the Console of the Host Running the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service Module

(Alternative Method):

NOTE: Technically you can connect to the local CA ARCserve RHA Control Service and launch the Manager using a web browser such as Internet Explorer, just like when connecting remotely. Typically, when logged onto the console of the host you would follow the previous instructions and use the 'Start Menu'. However, in some cases it may be necessary to manually launch the manager through an alternate method.

NOTE: You could use the following method to create a shortcut on the desktop of the Control Service host to launch the Ca XOsoft RHA r15 Scenario Manager

  1. Logon to the host running the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Control Service module. (This can be done using Remote Desktop or via console access)
  2. Open Windows Explorer
  3. Browse to the CA ARCserve RHA r15 installation directory

    • By default this is located in 'C:\Program Files\CA\ARCserve RHA\Manager
  4. Open the 'WS_CO' folder
  5. 'Double-click' the file named 'ws_gui.application' to launch the CA ARCserve RHA r15 Manager

  6. When the Manager launches and logon window will also pop-up to prompt you to provide credentials.

    • Authenticate using an account which is a member of the Local Administrators group on that host. The Domain Admins. group is typically a member of the Local Admins. group by default on domain member servers.
