Title:  How to Set tape alert in the ARCserve?

Description:

How to Set tape alert in the ARCserve?

Solution:

Tape Alert is an industry standard way for a tape drive to report a condition needed attention back to the controlling application, for example when it needs to be cleaned. DLTSage is an another error monitoring and reporting utility developed by Quantum to enable Super DLT drives to automatically report conditions to the application. The result is that both LTO and DLT will automatically notify the Tape Engine when cleaning is needed.

To enable Tape Alert operation go to the ARCserve Server Admin, select the Tape Engine and then Configuration. At the bottom is a check box for Tape Alert support.
