arcserve-KB : D2D Backups fails with VSS error, Error code 0x8004231f VSS_E_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE.

Error Message:

Backup job fails while trying to create a snapshot. The reason for the failure is because the Shadow Copy Storage location does not have sufficient storage space.


Error code 0x8004231f indicates VSS_E_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE (Insufficient storage space for the Shadow Copy).

Description:

D2D or UDP Backup job fails while trying to create a snapshot. The reason for the failure is because the Shadow Copy Storage location does not have sufficient storage space.

Solution:

Step 1 - Free up some disk space on the volumes being backed up or increase the limit for the Shadow copies.
