Description:

Backup fails with the error message 'Failed to locate backup destination. (Path=[], EC=[])'. This document explains about steps to verify and resolve the problem.

Solution:

-If the backup destination is on a local volume, check if the volume can be accessed through Windows.

-If the backup destination is on a remote share.

  • Check if the share has read\write access for the ARCserve D2D User Account.
  • Try to map the share to drive letter using the “net use” command and provide the same user account credentials used by ARCserve D2D while connecting.
  • Try to ping the remote machine by name and IP Address to check if it can be reached.
