arcserve-KB : Scenario: How to Copy a Recovery Point

Last Update: 2016-11-23 17:04:44 UTC

This process describes how a Storage Manager can use CA ARCserve D2D to copy a recovery point to a specific location. As a Storage Manager, you can copy/export recovery point information to store it safely off-site for the following reasons:

  • Protection against a catastrophe.
  • Save your recovery points to multiple locations.
  • Consolidate your backups if your destination is getting full and you still want to preserve all your recovery points.

Also this process lets you copy a complete recovery point (consolidating the latest full backup and all subordinate incremental backups) and perform a full restore of that recovery point if necessary.
