Title:  HOW TO HANDLE PORT CONFLICT OF D2D WITH OTHER SOFTWARE

CA ARCserve D2D occupies 2 ports:

1. One port for CA ARCserve D2D Web Service, 8014 by default

2. One port for Tomcat, 8005 by default

To modify the port used by CA ARCserve D2D Web Service, for example from 8014

to 12345:

1. Stop CA ARCserve D2D Web Service

2. Open file 'X:\Program Files\CA\ARCserve D2D\TOMCAT\conf\server.xml'

3. Modify the following line from

<Connector port='8014' protocol='HTTP/1.1' connectionTimeout='180000'/>

to

<Connector port='12345' protocol='HTTP/1.1' connectionTimeout='180000'/>

4. Right click file 'X:\Program Files\CA\ARCserve D2D\TOMCAT\ARCFlash UI'

Switch to the 'Web Document' tab, modify the URL from

http://localhost:8014

to

http://localhost:12345

5. Locate to registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CA\CA ARCserve D2D\WebServ

ice]

modify the port from

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CA\CA ARCserve D2D\WebService]

'Port'=dword:00001f4e

'URL'='http://localhost:8014'

to

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CA\CA ARCserve D2D\WebService]

'Port'=dword:00003039

'URL'='http://localhost:12345'

6. Start CA ARCserve D2D Web Service

To modify the port used by Tomcat, for example from 8005 to 54321:

1. Stop CA ARCserve D2D Web Service

2. Open file 'X:\Program Files\CA\ARCserve D2D\TOMCAT\conf\server.xml'

3. Modify the following line from

<Server>

to

<Server port='54321' shutdown='SHUTDOWN'>

4. Start CA ARCserve D2D Web Service

In most cases, user needn't to change all these 2 ports. But under some speci

al circumstances, user has to change these 2 ports together.

For example, Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) occupies port 8014 a

nd 8005 as well.

Either D2D or SEPM will not work properly if user doesn't change these 2 defa

ult ports.
