arcserve-KB : BMR blue screen if volume is recreated with different cluster size

Last Update: 2016-11-23 17:04:21 UTC

Description:

ARCserve D2D r16 , BMR (Bare Metal Recovery)  for Windows 2003 server x86

BMR is completed succesfully but at next boot the recovered machine loop rebooting or it  provides  the following  error :

'Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer'

...and goes into a blue screen :' 0xc00000e9  An expected I/O error has occurred'

Solution:

If a new volume is created during BMR please create it with same cluster size of original volume.

If the original volume was 512 bytes cluster size then avoid recreate during BMR as 4k cluster size volume
