File copy purge job cannot be launched

File copy purge job cannot be launched

Errors seen in D2D Activity Log files :

Information: Job0000010D - Will perform File Copy for Volume D:.

Warning: A job is currently running. A new job named 'FileCopyPurgeJob' at MM/DD/YYYY 12:00:05 AM cannot be performed

Root Cause:

Below is retention time setting screenshots, you can specify the amount of time that the stored data is retained at the destination location .At the end of the specified retention time period, file copy purge job will purge the stored data from the destination. In D2D, user can’t set the specific execution time of file copy purge job. In fact, file copy purge will be launched every day at 12AM by default.

If there is another job running when file copy purge job starts, File copy purging cannot be launched


      To resolve this conflict, you can specify the file copy purge job start time as below:

  1. Stopped the D2D Web Service
  2. Go to X:\Program Files\CA\ARCserve D2D\Configuration, open ArchiveConfiguration.xml
  3. Locate and change StartTime attribute of this file 



Notes: StartTime is start from 12PM, set the value you need, if you assign it as 3, it means File copy purge will start work on 3AM.

About StartTime values, valid values are: 0,1, 2, 3,…, 23

  1. Save ArchiveConfiguration.xml file
  2. Restarted the D2D Web service
