arcserve-KB : SystemFiles that are skipped by arcserve UDP/D2D during restore procedure

While doing a file / folder restore by arcserve UDP/D2D you perhaps encounter some files are skipped.

The below list show a bunch of System files and directories that are skipped from restore by design.


By design the following files and directories are skipped from restore regardless of their location on disk:

NOTE: the information above do not apply to Bare Metal Recovery (BMR)
The Activity log of D2D will provide the following information:
Date Time Information: jobxxxx System Files skipped. You can use Bare-Metal Recovery Option (BMR) to restore them
Date Time Information: jobxxxx Files or Directories skipped. Which files or directories were skipped can be found in C:\Program Files\CA\ARCserve D2D\Logs\Image->date<->time<.log

    these files are skipped because they are not required to be restored. These files are recreated by the operating system and hold no data.
